MAN & BOY
This 'Man & Boy' atc is for a private swap. The idea came to me this afternoon when I was tinkering a bit aimlessly. I've used the clock background before but this time, I stamped it onto a vintage German - English dictionary page. The pages are very aged and discoloured but what I love about it most is that the black print is VERY black. Not sure that shows up so well here. I then added the boy/man images which I'd stamped onto distress ink backgrounds and then diamond glazed. I'm new to diamond glaze and I've fallen in love with it. I stamped the words and mounted them on black card before assembling it and then edging the bottom with a stripy stamp which is actually the bottom of a window box stamp. This feels very simplistic but I really like it and resisted the urge to 'bellish it up' any further because it would have distracted from its austerity. I'm hoping it has a kind of Orwellian flavour about it!

That's pretty cool. The background really works. Are the male pics stamps too? You must have quite a collection. I have to ask, how many?

Thanks Kim! They are stamps, yes. I do have quite a stash of stamps as I've been collecting them for years now but I couldn't put a figure on it. All I can say is, one can never have too many!x
ReplyDeleteYou've done a great job and it seems like you've achieved what you were going for. keeping it simple was a good choice, I think :)

Oh, yeah. Diamond Glaze is BIG fun! I like the monochrome of this card. Makes things really stand out.
