New game! Would anybody care to play along with me?
I just visited a blog where the author writes about the songs that are relevant to what is going on in her life at the time - I think its a fabulous idea and so, as music is so important to me, I've decided to start adding my 'music of the moment' (MOTM) to the bottom of each of my Friday posts. I'd love to hear yours too, so please do share ....!
And if you'd like to visit the blog mentioned, go to

MOTM - 'Lifted' by the Lighthouse Family - this song is my sunshine song ... I have an admission, I like to play it whilst driving fast, with the windows down and incredibly loud. Can be embarressing at traffic lights as I'm supposed to be far too grown up for such juvenile behaviour! What is your sunshine song?
Currently they are "I Gotta Feeling" by The Black Eyed Peas and "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga. And my feeling about cranking up the volume is: if it's too loud, you're too old! I'd much rather act my shoe size than my age :)
ReplyDeleteThat happens to me every now and again and they are suddenly back there the next time I go into my blog. It had it's days..

Oh what fun! I love Il Divo, I play the music really really loud while driving at the posted speed :)
ReplyDeleteMusic plays such a large part in my life, although quite often subliminally. When I'm crafting, it's Classic FM or Neil Diamond (who is, of course, Forever in Blue Jeans...!). But when I'm driving, it's got to be the soundtrack from the film 'Crazy Heart', which Grant and I saw and loved. I sing it good and loud, much to the kids' (and I guess other road users') torture (he he he, tough).

ps still sufferin' with ma back, but at least I'm spending more time at home makin' stuff.
MOTM for me is Jack Savoretti - Dreamers and Dr Frankenstein. And I like to crank up the volume too... guess we're all still 'young at heart' ooooh there you go, another song!
ReplyDeleteYou sure make me laugh! Glad I'm not the only one pumping up the volume! The great thing about this is that I'm going to check out all the music mentioned and broaden my musical horizons....! What fun. Thanks for playing. I love the way you are all up for a lark x
ReplyDeleteJace Everett. (Sang the theme song to True Blood) My sister just gave me the cd. He is like a cross between Alice Cooper, Roy Orbison and Chris Isaak. I'm in love! And just found out he's playing locally in Maidstone and OH has bought tickets on the proviso he can snooze through the whole thing. YUM YUM YUM! He is another to be played LOUD!
ReplyDeleteAlice Cooper, Roy Orbison, and Chris Isaak? That's quite a combination! I'll have to check him out...
ReplyDeleteI bought my daughter Jace Everett's cd for Xmas as we all loved the theme tune in our house. I'm going to ask for a loan of it now! What a great OH Carmen, to go if he's not into it! Last live gig I saw was Joan Armatrading playing at Fairfield Hall Croydon a couple of years ago. The support act was a little known woman called Jade Gallagher - she was fantastic. My DF got me her cd as a stocking pressie that xmas.
ReplyDeleteLoving reading all your comments! x
My car radio is tuned to Classic FM (loud) 'cos you can't hear it with the windows down can you?!
ReplyDeleteOther than that Nothings' going to stop us now by Starship (previously Jefferson Starship, previously Jefferson Airplane) is a favourite :)
Anything by Roy Orbison ,the Beatles, The Hollies,Elvis,Tamla Mowtown, neil Diamond sixties music Andrea Boccelli,Bruce Springsteen,Barry White. My problem with music is everyone of my memories has a song attached to it .Often they are happy memories but I cannot listen to Jennifer Rush The Power of Love without thinking about my first husband who passed way before his time and have to shut off if I hear it playing. How would we live without I dread to think the world would not be the same.
ReplyDeleteMy sunshine song is Boys of Summer by Don Henley - it just reminds me of warm sunny days when I lived in Texas
