WE CAN REBUILD HIM .....
In an earlier blog I posted a photo of my Mum & Dad in their younger years. This is a more recent photo of them celebrating an Anniversary. My Dad is such an old romantic - he had a Scottish piper play Amazing Grace for my Mum as its her favourite song. Not sure there was a dry eye in the place. Happily, my Dad was released from hospital today and is back at home, no doubt in the office answering emails and phone calls if I know him! He has to have another procedure, but we don't know what and we don't know when. But for now at least, he is out of the woods. Phew! Thank you all so much for your kindnesses and words of encouragement - they were so uplifting and my Mum was very touched when I showed her everyone's comments. There is one thing you can say about my Dad for sure and that is he is one of the most positive people in the Universe.... he gave me a piece of advice in the car as I drove him home ... he said 'if you ever go into hospital, make sure you take a book about someone worse off than you to remind you how fortunate you are' ..... He's a total Dude.

What a lovely man, and what a lovely couple he and your mum make! I'm so glad he's back where he belongs (in the office!). Sending Get Well wishes to him, and love to you and yours. xxxxx
ReplyDeleteOh Penny, your Dad is an amazing and humble man!
ReplyDeleteCelebrations to you all for his recovery. Will still be prayerfully thinking of you all for his forthcoming procedure. x
That's great, Penny.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear it. He does seem like a total dude!
My Dad too is most positive and that's why he's a survivor. Back when he had undergone surgery for intestinal cancer over 30 years ago when they almost thought he was a goner he remarked that he felt like a Playboy Bunny with the staples across his middle.
Good advice he gave you too!
xoxo, Kim
